Frequently Asked Questions

When should I plan to be in Lisbon?

We are delighted to be taking care of accommodations during the wedding festivities so you can focus on getting to Portugal to celebrate!

The first event will be the evening of Wednesday, June 17. We recommend arriving that morning or early afternoon so you can check into Penha Longa Resort at 3:00 pm. The final event is the evening of Friday, June 19, and check-out is Saturday, June 20 at 12:00 pm. The resort is 25 to 30 minutes by taxi from Lisbon Airport. If you can’t make the full festivities or would like to arrive or depart outside these dates, please let us know.

How do I get to the venue?

We recommend flying into Humberto Delgado Airport (LIS) and taking an Uber or Bolt from the airport to Penha Longa Resort in Sintra.

What should I wear?

We’re so glad you asked! Indian attire! We’ll be posting a wardrobe guide on the website soon. In the meantime, if you need a second opinion or some creative direction, Dimple and her mum would love to help so please text/call. For the ladies, some styles we recommend looking for are lehengas, salwar kameez, and Anarkali. Sarees are a bit difficult to wear for our beginners. For gentlemen, a kurta is a classic or a sherwani is great too. Most importantly, we recommend wearing what feels most comfortable for you and what you’ll be happiest dancing in!

Is the wedding outdoors?

All of the wedding festivities will be outdoors. June in Sintra usually brings warm, comfortable days in the low 20s °C (70s °F) with cooler evenings. Rain in June is rare, so we’re optimistic that Mother Nature will be on our side! All festivities will be at the resort except for our Sangeet, but we’ll provide transportation.

Will there be time for us to explore Sintra?

Yes! On Thursday, June 18, there will be time in the afternoon between our Haldi and Sangeet to explore picturesque Sintra. We’ll be back with exact timings and recommendations closer to the wedding!
